● The leadscrew can now be removed.
● Replacement is the reversal of the above.
● Ensure covers are refitted.
Note 1: The flat of the leadscrew nut
locates on the flat in the cross-head. The
keyway also needs alignment. Reset
stroke adjustment as above.
Note 2: It is recommended that the
leadscrew is greased weekly with
Molykote BR2 Plus grease (387443)
which is supplied.
TENSIONING THE DRIVE BELT

The drive belt will need to be tensioned regularly
depending on the application the tool is to be
used on.
lncorrect tension will lead to rapid wear and can
cause damage to the belt.
Ensure that the electrical supply is
disconnected.
● Slacken the screw in the tensioner.
● Rotate the tensioner so that the tension in the
belt permits the belt to deflect 2.5 mm when
a load of approximately 4 kg is applied to the
belt in the position shown.
● Hold the tensioner in position and tighten the
screw.
SERVICING REQUIREMENTS
General Notes
Use the following lubricants:
● Grease - Molykote BR2 Plus for leadscrew
● Grease - Molykote G68 for bevel gears,
gearing and gearbox bearings.
● Grease - Molykote PG75 Plastislip for
O-Rings.
● Grease - BP FG00EP, for bearing motor
bearings, inside of outer case on piston seal.
● Grease - Molykote Longterm W2 for splines
guide rod.

Cleaning
Requirements:
(1) Container to immerse components.
(2) Good quality clean paraffin.
● Soak the components in the container
containing the paraffin.
● Ensure full immersion, agitate components to
ensure that air passages are flushed through.
● Remove components from the container,
thoroughly dry and blow through air passages
to remove moisture.
● Place components in an air tight container
until required for assembly.
● Dispose of the dirty paraffin in accordance
with health and safety regulations.
MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
● Service should be carried out at intervals of
1000 hours'use.
● Always quote tool model number, serial
number and spare part number when
ordering spares.
● All torque figures ± 5%.
● Dismantle the tool using the exploded view.
● Clean all components and inspect for wear or
damage, exchange if necessary.
● Apply new lubricant to the relevant parts in
accordance with list.
● Replace the front seal after dismantling the
tool.
● Special tools shown in exploded view are in
addition to normal workshop tools.
When disposing of components,
lubricants, etc... ensure that the relevant
safety procedures are carried out.
Protective gloves and eye protection
should be worn during cleaning of parts.
Eating or smoking is prohibited when
cleaning, dismantling or assembling tool.
Electric Motor
Electric motor testing and checking as
necessary should be carried out by a competent
electrician in accordance with the relevant
section of the Health and Safety Act.
