The EXP series controllers require 24 VDC nominal input power. Power is provided to the controller
using terminal blocks J1 through J4. Large, redundant input power terminal blocks are provided to help
support large cables designed to minimize voltage drop in the line. Connect positive power leads to J1
and J2 and negative power leads to J3 and J4. Each terminal block is capable of accepting a 24 AWG
to 6 AWG conductor. Conductor sizes and cable length must be designed for the specific application
and should be fused according to the table below.

Power is provided to the R, S, and T actuator phases using terminal blocks J6 – J8. The J9 terminal
block provides an internal connection to the controller case for PE ground connection to the Motor. The
terminal blocks are capable of accepting 24 AWG to 6 AWG (0.2 – 16 mm

12 AWG (2.5 mm
) wire is required for rated output power.
The controller is capable of providing three phase current of up to 30 A peak for one minute and 25 A
continuously. Conductor sizes and cable length must be designed for the specific application. The
maximum motor cable length is 20 feet (6 meters). For best ECM practices use shielded cable with the
shield connected in the cable gland.
