Using the Full Face Mask
and the Mask/Helmet Combination
Before Use
Before first use, the entrepreneur/user must ensure the follow-
ing (see European Directive 89/656/EEC):
— the fit must be perfect, e. g. to ensure an absolutely tight fit,
— the Personal Protective Equipment must be compatible with
other types of protection equipment worn at the same time
(e.g. protection jacket),
— the Personal Protective Equipment is suitable for existing
workplace conditions,
— the Personal Protective Equipment must be suitable for the
ergonomic requirements and the state of health of the per-
son wearing the breathing protection equipment,
— the mask-helmet combination needs to be carefully adapted
to the equipment wearer (correct mask size, mask adapter sa-
chet settings and inner fittings of the helmet) due to the rigid
structure.
Preparing the facepiece for Use
The mask bodies are available in sizes S, M, L, inner masks in
sizes 1, 2 and 3. In most cases, a facepiece of standard size M2
is used. If leaktightness is a problem, a facepiece sized S or L
should be used.
Each mask wearer must be provided with a mask of suitable
size.
Prior to use, always make sure that the facepiece is leaktight.
The sealing line between head and facepiece must be free of
hair and foreign substances which could cause leakages.
Spectacle wearers should wear mask spectacles.

tion
To make the full face mask leak-tight, the mask adapter sachet
and the inner fittings must be set to fit.
The mask might be incompatible and/or leaky when worn on
an unusually shaped head.
Install mask spectacles, if necessary
Remove protective film from visor.
Before using the facepiece for the first time, check that it is
leaktight (see "Leak Tests" on page 13).
Full face
Fully open head strap kit.
mask
Put neck support strap around the neck and
fasten it in retrieval position (Figure B), if nec-
essary.
Donning the Facepiece
With very low temperatures, the equipment wearer can reduce
mask fogging by either inhaling or holding his breath when
donning the mask.
Full face
Undo full face mask from retrieval position.
mask
Pull head strap kit apart, then place chin into
chin cup (Figure C).
Pull the head strap kit over the head and draw
backwards.
Adjust the full face mask.
Pull the straps until evenly tightened; first the
neck straps, then the temple straps, finally the
front strap (Figure D).
1) Strictly follow the corresponding assembly instructions.
2) Strictly follow the corresponding Instructions for Use.

tion
Take hold of both mask/helmet adapters,
then place the upper edge of the full face
mask against the forehead.
Lay chin in the chin cup.
Simultaneously, pull both mask/helmet adapt-
ers to the rear and clip them into the mask
adapter sachet.
Adjust the full face mask. The entire sealing
line must be flush against the head, push the
mask under the front strap of the helmet or of
the flame/heat barrier, if necessary.
Close the chin strap and check the tight fit of
the helmet, retighten the chin strap if neces-
sary.
Have a second person check the fit of the
mask. The mask/helmet adapters must be
pulled tight, otherwise adjust the position of
the mask adapter sachet at the helmet
P
Put breathing apparatus in the connection piece.
Turn and pull the breathing apparatus to check for
tight fit. Have a second person check the firmness and
correct connection.
Close the medium pressure hose with your thumb.
Inhale, then hold your breath. No entry of air should be
perceived, otherwise check the fit of the mask. The ex-
haled air must escape through the exhalation valve
without resistance.
Repeat the tight fit test twice.
Connect self-contained breathing apparatus or line
breathing apparatus.
Alternative leak test, which allows you to keep the breath-
ing apparatus connected to the self-contained breathing
apparatus and the mask:
Close cylinder valve.
Inhale all air from the system, then carry out leak
test.
Open the cylinder valve again.
