Prior to connecting rectifier's terminals, please make sure that battery terminals are clean and free from corrosion. Provide the
best possible electric contact between battery and rectifier terminals.
Never charge the frozen battery. Prior to charging move the battery to a place, where it is possible to completely defrost the
electrolyte. Do not heat the battery in order to accelerate defrosting.
Do not let the liquid leak from the battery. Liquid leakage may lead to short-circuit resulting in electric shock posing a threat to
health and life.
HANDLING OF RECTIFIER
Using a hook
A hook that allows hanging of the product was placed at the bottom of housing. A hook to be dismantled from transport fastening in
the housing (II). Than rotate it 180 degrees and insert into mid socket in the housing (III) and then rotate it 90 degrees in direction
indicated by an arrow with a symbol of closed padlock (IV).
The hook is ready for use. The hook may be dismantled in sequence opposite to assembly. If the hook is not in use it is recom-
mended to place it at the bottom of housing, this will reduce the risk of its loss.
Battery preparation to charging
Read and follow charging instruction provided with the battery. For lead-acid, the so-called "wet" batteries, check the level of
electrolyte and possibly refill it with distilled water to the level specified in battery documentation. When topping up with electrolyte
please follow strictly recommendations included in battery documentation.
A rectifier is designed for charging only lead-acid batteries (the so-called "wet", gel and AGM batteries) of rated voltage specified
in technical data table.
A rectified was fitted with crocodile clamps used for charging majority of batteries.
Connect rectifier's crocodile clamps to battery terminals, make sure that the rectifier's clamp marked with "+" is connected to bat-
tery terminal marked with "+" and the rectifier's clamp marked with "-" is connected to batter terminal marked with "-".
Battery's voltage may result in backlighting of the LCD display and indicated voltage may be seen on it.
Connect the power cord plug into a mains socket. Indicators relating to type of battery and mode of operation will be displayed
on the screen.
The rectifier should automatically recognize the battery rated voltage and type, otherwise by using a button marked with "BATT
TYPE", you may select the proper battery charging mode and battery rated voltage.
„STD" – charging mode suitable for charging regular (the so-called "wet" batteries), gel and most of AGM batteries.
„AGM" – charging mode suitable for charging of each type of battery supported at low temperatures (below 5
O
C) or for charging
high-duty AMG batteries.
You may select charging current by using "RATE / TEST" button.
1A - for charging batteries below 30 Ah. 14.4 V rated voltage; 1 A rated current.
4A - for charging batteries over 30 Ah. 14.4 V rated voltage; 4 A rated current.
Note! Before selecting the charging parameters, please read the battery manufacturer's instructions.
Pressing "START" button begins charging process, which shall be visualised by a symbol of battery on LCD display to be grad-
ually filled with stripes along with a progress of charging process. Battery voltage, error symbol or test result is visible next
to a symbol of battery.
Pushing the "START" button again stops the charging process and allows e.g. to change the charging current.
Warning! After battery charging is complete which is indicated by filling up the battery symbol with stripes, the rectifier supplies
the battery with sustaining current (maintenance current). The battery should be immediately disconnected from the rectifier after
completion of charging process. Failing to do that for longer time may result in its damage.
After the completion of charging process, disconnect the power cord plug from a mains socket, and then disconnect clamps
of charging cords.
Testing
All below mentioned tests may be performed only for 12 V rated voltage batteries.
Checking the battery
Warning! Checking the battery should be done with power cord plug disconnected from a mains socket. Connecting the rectifier
to mains will activate the charging mode.
Make sure, that at least one hour lapsed from the last battery charge, otherwise indications may be inaccurate.
Connect the crocodile clamps the same way as in the case of battery charging. The display will show the battery voltage value.
If the voltage value is below 12.4 V this indicates that the battery requires immediate charging. Voltage value from 12.4 to 12.6V
