WARNING
If you carry a load on the roof, this raises the vehicle's center of
gravity and changes handling characteristics. If the maximum roof
load is exceeded, this will seriously impair driving characteristics and
steering and braking behavior. There is a risk of an accident. It is
essential that you adhere to the maximum roof load, see vehicle
Operator's Manual and adjust your driving style accordingly.
Do not exceed the vehicle's maximum permissible roof load and the
permissible gross vehicle weight, even when additional equipment is
fitted to the basic carrier bars (such as roofboxes, ski racks etc.).
Otherwise, the basic carrier bars, equipment mounted to the basic
carrier bars and/or loads may come loose from the vehicle, resulting
in injury to you and other persons and/or damage to property,
including your vehicle.
Take note of the change of the vehicle dimensions change when the basic
carrier bars are mounted.
If difficulties arise during installation, please contact a qualified specialist
workshop. Mercedes-Benz recommends that you use a Mercedes-Benz
Center.
Always adapt your driving style to the prevailing road, traffic and weather
conditions and drive with particular care if the roof is laden.
For safety reasons and in order to save fuel, the basic carrier bars should
be removed from the vehicle when not in use.
Do not use an automatic car wash when the basic carrier bars are fitted
to the vehicle.
For safety reasons, Mercedes-Benz recommends only using accessories
approved for use with these Mercedes-Benz basic carrier bars.
When mounting equipment on the basic carrier bars (roofbox, ski rack,
etc.), please observe the respective installation instructions of the
