Level calibration
A level calibration accounts for various physical tolerance stack-ups in the system. Examples include
thickness of the mounting band, and the angular placement in the pipe of the sensor relative to the
6 o'clock position. Do a level calibration when installing a sensor in a flow stream for the first time.
Level calibration for FL900 Series loggers:
Open the Flo-Ware software and follow the instructions in the calibration wizard for the AV9000 Area
Velocity Analyzer Module or do a manual calibration.
Manual level calibration for FL900 Series meters
1. Make sure that Sensor Port 1 (AV9000) is selected.
2. Go to the set up tab. Calibrations are done in the level settings section.
3. Click the CALIBRATE button.
The Level Calibration window opens.
4. Click TAKE SAMPLE.
The level measurement starts. When the measurement is complete, the measured level is shown.
5. Manually measure the liquid level and enter this value in the Actual Level field.
The sensor reading is automatically adjusted by an offset value. The sensor-reading value will
now be the same as the Actual Level value.
Level calibration for Sigma samplers and meters
1. With the sensor installed in the flow, monitor the Current Status with a PC using Insight software
or a flow meter display.
2. Physically measure the distance from the top of the pipe to the surface of the water
