For longer interruptions of work, additionally close the bottle respectively extraction valves at the distribution.
Then Then release the pressure regulator by turning out the locking screw. Close the pressure reducer output
valve.
5.4 Flame cutting
5.4.1 Select flame cutting nozzle according to the workpiece thickness and screw it gastight into the torch
head. Use an appropriate installation wrench. Counterhold on the surfaces of the torch head. Only use clean,
undamaged flame cutting nozzles. Make sure that the sealing surfaces on the nozzle of the torch head are
flawless. If required, fix the carriage on the torch head and adjust the nozzle distance to the material surface
according to the values listed in the table.
5.4.2 Adjusting the operating pressures
Keep oxygen and oxy-fuel gas valve on the handle piece closed. Slowly open bottle valve respectively
extraction valve (distribution line).
Open shut-off valve on the pressure regulators.
Adjust the operating pressures on both pressure regulators according to the indications on the insert and
according to the table.
5.4.3 Igniting and adjusting the flame
Fully open oxygen valve on the handle piece. (Open the heating oxygen valve at the cutting insert a little) then
open the oxy-fuel gas valve at the handle piece a little.
Immediately ignite the escaping gas mixture. Neutrally adjust the flame by adjusting the heating oxygen and
oxy-fuel gas adjusting valve (same as for the welding flame). Fully open the cutting oxygen valve, if required
readjust the oxygen pressure (refer to the table). Neutrally adjust the flame. Close the cutting oxygen valve
again.
5.4.4 Starting to cut
Position the torch to the position where you would like to start to cut and heat up the heating flame on the
workpiece locally to ignition temperature, about bright red.
Attention: Do not fuse the material! Then open the cutting oxygen valve and move the torch in cutting direction.
5.4.5 Cutting speed
It is possible to identify the correct cutting speed by the slag escape, the vertically flying sparks and the
cutting noise.
correct
too little
too large
5.4.6 Switching off the cutting torch
First close the cutting oxygen valve on the cutting insert, then close the adjusting valve for oxy-fuel gas on the
handle piece and the adjusting valve for oxygen on the handle piece. During longer work interruptions,
additionally close the bottle valves. Relieve pressure regulator and hoses by opening the adjusting valves as
well as the cutting oxygen valve. Then release the pressure regulator by turning out the adjusting screw. Close
the shut-off valves on the pressure regulator.
5.4.7 Circular-cut
Screw the circle rod laterally into the carriage. Position the lather center of the circular guide in the
punch-marked center of the circle. Adjust the radius of the desired circle by shifting the circle rod. Observe
the kerf width. When flanging, always first cut the outer and then the inner circle.
5.4.8 Miter cuts
Assemble and fix the torch head in the carriage according to the drawing.
6. Notes regarding operation and maintenance
6.1 Always protect the device against damages (Perform a sight inspection in regular intervals)
6.2 Malfunction
6.2.1 Torch bump off
Reduction of the discharge flow speed, e.g. due to soiling of the nozzles when inserting them into the welding
pool or due to operator errors. The flame penetrates into the torch and extinguishes with a banging noise.
Switch off, readjust and ignite the torch!
6.2.2 Torch restrike
When restriking, the flame penetrates further into the torch and continues burning in the area of the mixing
point. A whistling noise is being heard. In this case, immediately close the adjusting valves for the oxygen and
oxy-fuel gas on the handle piece.
6.2.3 Damages of the torch
Do not commission the torch in case of leakiness of screw connections on the torch and nozzle as well as
damages due to torch restriking, fusing at the mixing point, plugged injector nozzles, etc. Have the appliance
only repaired by expert persons in an authorized repair shop.
