Installation and assembly
The pressure build-up regulator is always installed in horizontal pipes; pay attention
to the flow direction. Connection C must point vertically upwards (the adjusting
screw is directed down towards the ground); no other installation position is permit-
ted. In order to ensure proper functioning of the pressure build-up regulator, it must
be installed in such a way that it is not subject to any impermissible static, dynamic
or thermal stresses. Furthermore, before installing the pressure build-up regulator,
ensure that it is suitable for the intended use. Also check that the pressure build-up
regulator is free of damage and contamination. If this is not the case, the pressure
build-up regulator must not be installed. Remove any protective caps.
Installation may only be carried out by qualified persons and when the pipe system
is depressurised. Flush the pipes to remove residue before installing the pressure
build-up regulator. Residue can damage internal parts and lead to malfunctions,
including failure of the pressure build-up regulator. The pipelines must be connected
to the pressure build-up regulator without tension! When screwing in pipes and
connections, use suitable tools to hold the pressure build-up regulator in place!
For pressure build-up regulators with welding ends, ensure that seals are not over-
heated during installation/welding. Similarly, ensure that no welding residue enters
the pressure build-up regulator. Any welding residue must be completely removed.
A suitable shut-off valve (e.g. type 2140, 2160, 2180) should be installed upstream
or downstream of each connection of the pressure build-up regulator. This makes
it possible to shut down the system for maintenance, cleaning or inspection; in
addition, a non-return unit can be installed at outlet C; see Figure a).
Assembly tightening torques
The pressure build-up regulator may only be mounted in or dismounted from the
system using the spanner flats (hexagon), not the housing. The following maximum
tightening torques must be observed.
