Putting into service
Putting a system into service may only be performed by qualified persons. All operating
instructions must be read and followed before putting into service for the first time. In
addition, it must be checked that the installation work was performed correctly. When
starting up the system, the shut-off valve on the upstream pressure side (A) is first
opened slowly and the system is slowly filled with the operating medium, preventing
pressure surges. Then the shut-off valves on the downstream pressure side of the pres-
sure build-up regulator (B) and (C) are slowly opened. While the system is being put into
service, the tightness of the connections must be checked and any leakages rectified.
WARNING: The pipe system must be vented, as air bubbles
can lead to explosions if pressure is suddenly built up. Therefore, the operating
pressure should
be built up in stages.
Application errors can result in danger to life due to parts that come loose!

Pressure setting
The pressure build-up regulator is set to a target working pressure in the factory; see
the following table. The set value can be changed by turning the adjusting screw, item
5, using an open-end wrench/ring spanner SW16. To increase the working pressure,
screw the adjusting screw clockwise into the flange cover, item 3; to reduce pressure,
unscrew the adjusting screw, item 5, counter-clockwise. The desired working pressure
can either be determined by the display of a pressure gauge installed at a suitable
location, or set according to the setting diagram, Fig b).
Procedure
• Loosen the lock nut, item 4, with an open-end wrench/ring spanner SW 18.
• Screw the adjusting screw, item 5, into (pressure increase) or out of (pressure
reduction) the flange cover, item 3, according to the difference between the wor-
king pressure to be set and the factory setting or the previously set pressure.
• Secure the set pressure by tightening the lock nut, item 4.

operator. If deviations from the normal condition are detected during maintenance (e.g.
leakages, incorrect pressure control, noises, etc.), the pressure build-up regulator must be
