* Always wear safety goggles and proper apparel while using this accessory. Face
shield and eye protection such as goggles; dust mask or other protective measures
appropriate to the material being ground; leather gloves and shop apron of leather,
canvas or a substantially constructed fabric.
* Use special precautions when sanding, grinding, or cutting chemically pressure
treated lumber, paint that may be lead based, or any other materials that may
contain carcinogens. A suitable breathing respirator and protective clothing must be
worn by all persons entering the work area. Work area should be sealed in plastic sheeting
and persons not protected should be kept out until work area is thoroughly cleaned.
* Carefully handle the tool and individual wheels, back-up pads, or sanding
discs, to avoid chipping or cracking. Before each use inspect the wheel for chips
and cracks. Do not use damaged wheel. Remove damaged wheels immediately.
Install a new wheel if tool is dropped. When installing a new wheel, carefully handle
individual wheel to avoid chipping or cracking. Run the tool at no load for one
minute, holding the tool in the direction away from people. Damaged wheels will
normally break apart during this time. Fragments from a wheel that breaks during
operation will fly away at great velocity possibly striking you or bystanders.
* This machine is not intended to be used with wet diamond wheels, wet sand, or
any type of wet grinding or wet cutting functions. Using water or other liquid
coolants with this machine may result in electrocution or shock. Liquids entering the
motor housing is an electrical shock hazard. Use only dry diamond wheels from Roto Zip.
* Do not use oversized grinding or cut-off wheels, sanding discs or pads, or over
sized abrasives intended for larger tools. Wheels intended for large angle sanders,
grinders, or cut-off tools are not suitable for the high speed of small angle sanders,
grinders, or cut-off tools. These wheels may over-speed and break and the fragments
can strike you or bystanders. Larger sandpaper will extend beyond the sanding
pad causing snagging, tearing of the paper or kick-back. Extra paper extending
beyond the sanding pad can also cause serious lacerations.
* Do not use this tool with "Woodcarving" blades or standard wood cutting
toothed blades. These blades are not intended for this machine and can create
loss of control during use.
* Be aware of the location and setting of the On/Off Switch. Be ready for
emergency situations to switch it "OFF".
* Clamp or secure workpiece before beginning to cut, grind or sand. Clamping the
workpiece prevents it from being ejected from under the tool and leaves both
hands to control the tool.
* Position the cord clear of the spinning wheel. Do not wrap the cord around your
arm or wrist. If you lose control and have the cord wrapped around your arm or
wrist, it may entrap you and cause injury.
* Keep your body positioned to either side of the wheel, but not in line with the
wheel. It is important to support the tool properly and to position your body such as
to minimize body exposure from the possible wheel binding and the recoil of the tool.

* Keep hands away from cutting area and wheel. Keep your second hand on
auxiliary handle. Hold the machine firmly to prevent loss of control. NEVER place
your hand behind the wheel since the machine may recoil over your hand. Do not
attempt to remove cut material when wheel is moving. If both hands are holding
the machine, they cannot be cut by the wheel.
* Do not run the machine while carrying it at your side. Accidental contact with the
spinning wheel could result in serious personal injury.
* Never lay the tool down until the motor has come to a complete standstill. The
spinning wheel can grab the surface and pull the tool out of your control.
* Do not cut, sand, or grind near flammable materials. Sparks from the wheel
could ignite these materials.
* Never attempt to cut magnesium with this tool. The dust generated when
cutting magnesium is highly flammable and may be explosive under certain conditions.
* Regularly clean the tools air vents with compressed air. Excessive accumulation
of powdered metal inside the motor housing may cause electrical failures.
* This tool can be converted to a sander. Regardless of the application, the guard
must always be attached and positioned on the tool for maximum safety. When
cutting or grinding, it should be positioned so the least amount of wheel is
exposed from the side the tool is being operated.
* Avoid bouncing and snagging the wheel, especially when working corners,
sharp edges, etc. This can cause loss of control, kick-back and machine recoil.

" Cut-off Zip Wheels
1/2
DO NOT - UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES - USE ANY NON-ROTO ZIP TOOL
CORPORATION WHEELS, BLADES, DISCS OR PRODUCTS WITH THIS ATTACHMENT. Using a
product rated at a lower RPM or of a different size or manufacturer may cause serious injury.
* Improper use may cause wheel breakage and serious injury. Comply with Safety
Rules furnished with tool, ANSI B7.1, B7.5, and OSHA rules. (ANSI is the American
National Standards Institute.)
* Do not "jam" the abrasive wheel into the work, apply excessive pressure, or
attempt to use large depths of cut while using this machine. Let the rotating
wheel do the work, abrasive cut-off machines are intended to "cut" the material in
a series of shallow depth of cuts.
* Use only Roto Zip Tool Corporation brand abrasive cut-off wheels. Never use
damaged or incorrect wheel flanges or nuts. Never use wheels with incorrect
arbor hole size. Other types of wheels are not intended to apply load on periphery
and may shatter. Wheels with arbor holes that do not match the mounting hardware of
the tool will run eccentrically, vibrate excessively and will cause loss of control.
