2. Inserting the Zip Mate Attachment onto the tool
For safety reasons, the guard is required
to ALWAYS remain on the Zip Mate Attachment.
Properly line-up the Zip Mate Attachment to the Spiral Saw
power tool:
• Loosen the 2 knobs on the Zip Mate using the end of the
wrench from the power tool. (Photo 2-1)
• Hold the tool so the top of it is facing you
and the handle is away from you. (Photo 2-2)
• Depress and hold down the shaft lock button.
Note: If depressing the shaft lock button is difficult, turn
the collet nut until you feel the shaft lock button unlock
and are able to hold it down.
• Line up the Zip Mate as depicted in Photo 2-3.
The space in-between the knob should be able
to slip over the sleeve spring on the tool.
Insert the Zip Mate onto the tool:
• Push Zip Mate down over the tool until it is
about 1/4" from the housing lip. (Photo 2-4)
• Twist Zip Mate 1/4 turn to the right and at
the same time continue to push it all the way
down until it is flush with tool housing.

Position the Zip Mate:
• Position the Zip Mate to the desired angle.
• Using the wrench end, tighten the knobs on the
Zip Mate to secure it to the tool. (Photo 2-6)

3. Choose the appropriate Zip Wheel or Back-up Pad and Zip Disc for
the application.

4. Zip Cutting Wheels: Attaching, Operating Instructions
and Removal
Attaching Zip Cutting Wheel
• Ensure the tool is in OFF position and disconnected from
power source.
• Inspect wheel for damage. Do not use if damaged.
• Hold tool shaft lock button down and remove flange
nut using the wrench. Note: If holding down the shaft lock
button is difficult, turn the flange nut from left to right until
you can fully depress the shaft lock button.
• Remove any cardboard wheel or previously mounted wheels.
• Only mount one wheel at a time.
• Attach Zip Wheel by inserting it in between the guard foot
and placing tool arbor through arbor hole. (Photo 4-1)
• Hold down tool shaft lock button.
With the flat side of the nut against the
wheel, replace the flange nut. Use wrench
to snugly tighten nut and lock wheel in
place. DO NOT CRANK DOWN AND
OVERTIGHTEN NUT. (Photo 4-2)

• Position the guard so the least amount
of the wheel is exposed on the operator's
side of the tool. The guard must always
be securely attached to the tool and
positioned for maximum safety. (Photo 4-3)
