Safety notes
• Installation is only possible in frost-free rooms.
• The control electronics are only suitable for indoor use.
• Use only original spare parts.
Applications
Infrared fittings with thermostat are designed for hot water
supply via pressurised storage heaters and, utilised in this
way, provide the best temperature accuracy. Given sufficient
output (min. 18 kW or 250 kcal per min), electric or gas-fired
instantaneous heaters are also suitable.
Safe limitation of the max. outlet temperature via upstream
thermostats(thermal scalding protection).
Thermostats cannot be used in conjunction with
unpressurised storage heaters (displacement water heaters).
All thermostats are adjusted in the factory at a flow pressure
of 3 bar on both sides.
Should temperature deviations occur on account of special
installation conditions, the thermostat must be adapted to local
conditions (see Adjusting).

Technical Data

• Minimum flow pressure
• Operating pressure
• Recommended flow pressure
• Test pressure
• Max. water temperature at hot water supply
• Pre-adjustment
• Hot water temperature at supply connection min. 2°C higher
than mixed water temperature.
• Minimum flow rate
• Integrated isolating valves
• Water connection
If static pressure exceeds 5 bar, a pressure reducing valve
must be fitted.
New installations
1. Prepare the wall for the installation, refer to the dimensional
drawing on fold-out page I.
2. Prepare holes for the wall-mounting box (A) and the
structural shell protection (B) as well as slots for the pipes
and the electrical installation, see fold-out page II, Fig. [1].
3. Observe installation depth in accordance with Fig. [2].
4. Pull off structural shell protection (B), see Fig. [3].
5. Align the wall-mounting box (A) horizontally, vertically and
parallel to the wall, see Fig. [4].
6. For better fastening of the wall-mounting box (A),
the screws (C), washers (C1) und wall plugs (D)
provided can be used, see Fig. [5].
7. Connect the pipes to the wall-mounting box (A), see Fig. [6].
The cold water supply must be connected at the top
and the hot water supply at the bottom.
Do not solder the connection between the pipe and
housing, otherwise the built-in isolating valves may be
damaged.
Close isolating valves (E) and (H), see Fig. [7].
Open cold and hot-water supply and check connections
for water-tightness.
Flush pipes thoroughly.
Installation
Close isolating valves (E) and (H).
1. Attach thermostat unit (F) with filter (F1) and seal (F2) to hot
water isolating valve (E), see Fig. [7].
2. Screw elbow (G) with filter (G1) and seal (G2) hand-tight to
cold water isolating valve (H), see Fig. [8].
3. Attach elbow (G) with seal (J) to the thermostat unit (F).
4. Attach elbow (G) to thermostat unit (F) and isolating
valve (H).
Connecting to the power supply
Electrical installation work must only be
performed by a qualified electrician. This work
must be carried out in accordance with the
regulations to IEC 364-7-701-1984 (corresponding
to VDE 0100 Part 701) as well as all national and
local regulations.
• Only water-resistant round cables with outside
1 bar
diameter 6 to 8.5mm may be used.
max. 10 bar
• The voltage supply must be separately switchable.
1 -5 bar
• The pipes must be earthed.
16 bar
70 °C
Note for installer:
40 °C
• Fit structural shell protection (B) and screw in place using
internal screw (B1), see Fig. [10].
• Do not carry out any further installation procedures until the
= 5 l/min
tiling is completed.
1. Insert 230V connecting wire (I) into the transformer base,
cold - top
see Fig. [9]. Strip insulation in accordance with Fig. [9] and
hot - bottom
mount lustre terminal (J), note assignment.
2. Route strand (I1) in an arc and position lustre terminal (J) on
locator in base (K), see Fig. [10].
3. Secure cable (I) using screws (L) and strain relief (M).
4. Fasten cover (N) in base (K) using screw (O).
Note for tiler:
• Take account of 1 to 3mm grouting joint to structural
installation protection, see Fig. [11].
Perform final installation.
Further installation procedures are explained in the final
installation for the trim set.
Prevention of frost damage
When the domestic water system is drained, thermostats must
be drained separately, since non-return valves are installed in
the hot and cold water connections.
For this purpose, the thermostat must be removed from the
unions.
Replacement parts, see fold-out page I
( * = special accessories).
