1.6 Important Safety Information
These safety instructions are of basic importance for mounting and using the
emergency exit / panic locking systems panicLock 179 / 1125!
You are to heed the safety information provided without exceptions!
• Study the installation and maintenance instructions in this operating manual
and keep them in a place where they can be accessed without any problems.
Pass them on to the end customer after having installed the entrance door.
• The manufacturer shall not be held liable for damage caused by use contrary
to the intended purpose of the product.
• For security reasons, the locking units are designed to be used in conjunction
with the genuine Winkhaus parts. If you use other parts, the given properties
of the locking system can be adversely effected.
• Arbitrary modifications, changes or makeshift repairs are not permitted for
safety reasons! Repair of electrical equipment requires expertise, thus such
work should only be carried out by a qualified electrician. You must only use
genuine Winkhaus parts for replacements.
• Winkhaus does not accept liability for any type of damage caused by
inadequate repair, modification or maintenance works made.
• It must be checked whether the lock is suitable according to the door
certification for use on fire / smoke protection doors.
• When replacing or combining Winkhaus panicLock, the following must
be observed: For double sash doors, always use active and inactive locks
of the same generation (i.e. both locks either as so-called AP3 or AP4, a
combination of AP3 with AP4 in the same door element is not permissible!).
• Do not use locks for active sash of double sash door for single sash door!

Notice: The function D (activation of external handle in a panic
situation) can be driven only on the sash (inside handle) of
the active double sash door element. If a double sash door is
opened on the inactive sash, the outside handle for the active
sash is not activated. Therefore, the use of function D only in
single sash doors is recommended.
