Test Startup and Vehicle Connection
For the Latin America, USA Domestic, Asian, and Global OBD II functions, the
scan tool must be connected to a vehicle with a specific cable. You determine
the specific cable required by entering vehicle information into the scan tool.
This displays an illustration of the cable required for the vehicle. You then
connect the cable and continue with the vehicle diagnostics.
WARNING:
Before performing any diagnostic functions, refer to the Safety Precautions and
instructions provided in the User Guide and the warnings provided by the vehicle
manufacturer. In addition, follow any warnings and descriptions provided on the
scan tool screens.

Step 1: Enter the Vehicle Information

1 Press the On / Off button to turn the scan tool on; wait for the Application Manager
screen to appear.

2 Select Latin America, USA Domestic, USA Asian, or Global OBD II and press
the ENTER key.

If you select Global OBD II, the Required Cables illustration appears.
Go to step 4.

If you select one of the other applications, a series of Vehicle Identification
screens appears for you to identify the vehicle. Go to step 3.
