PREPERATION OF THE LOAD
LADEN
• If the battery needs to be removed from the vehicle for charging, always remove
the grounded pole of the battery first. Make sure all auxiliary equipment in the
vehicle is switched off to reduce the risk of arcing.
• Clean battery terminals. Caution: Corroded poles may contain corrosive
substances. Therefore, make sure that they can not get in the eye.
• Add distilled water to each cell until the battery acid reaches the level indicated on
the battery by the manufacturer. This helps to release excess gas from the cells. Do
not overfill.
For a battery without cell closures, carefully follow the manufacturer's instructions
when charging.
• Carefully study all battery manufacturer's specific precautions, such as removing
or not removing cell plugs during charging, and the recommended charging current.
• Check the battery voltage from the vehicle user manual and make sure it matches
the specifications of the battery charger.
• Place the charger away from the battery as far as the DC charging cables allow.
• Make sure the area around the battery is well ventilated while the battery is being
charged.
• Never place the charger directly over the battery to be charged; Gases from the
battery would eat away and damage the charger. Also the battery must never be
placed on the charger.
