The charging process can be interrupted at any time by unplugging the power plug
from the socket. Always disconnect the charger from the mains before removing the
battery cables to avoid sparking.
REACTIVATION
To reactivate the mode selector switch must be switched in rocker position "down"
(REACTIVATION). The red error LED (1) flashes when no or low discharged battery
(battery voltage less than 3V) or battery cables are connected incorrectly.
The reactivation process starts automatically as soon as a functioning battery is
connected (yellow and green LEDs flash.) After the reactivation is over
(about 4 hours), the device switches to trickle charging, indicated by the flashing
green LED (3).
Danger:
This function may only be used with 12V lead-acid batteries separated from
the vehicle, as the high charging voltage of 15.6 V poses a threat to the 12 V
on-board electronics in vehicle systems and, in addition, the life of light bulbs
reduced.
Closed lead gel and AGM batteries must not be reactivated!
This feature is designed to recharge deeply discharged lead-acid batteries
to reactivate. However, defective lead-acid batteries (cell closure) can not be
reactivated.
With a reduced charging current over a limited period of time, the charging voltage
is increased so much that the battery begins to produce gases. This results in an
acid redistribution in the battery and a partial degradation of the sulfate layers, which
has a positive effect on the performance and service life of the battery. Please note
that the battery develops explosive oxyhydrogen in this phase. After reactivation, it
is important to check the acid level of the battery and top up with distilled water if
necessary, since reactivation usually results in fluid loss in the battery.
In this mode, the charger will not automatically switch to error after removing the
battery terminals from the battery being charged (red LED flashes).
The charge voltage is still applied to the charging clamps. When re-connecting the
charging clamps to a battery therefore a reverse polarity of the battery can not be
detected! Therefore, before reactivating the selector switches, reactivation must be
switched to another charging program or the charger disconnected from the mains.
