MANUAL DE INSTALACIÓN Y MANTENIMIENTO
NW 50 Hz
1) Check that the direction of rotation of the motor corresponds to the direction marked on the pump
casing before coupling the motor to the pump. Make sure that the pump is running freely, without
jamming or friction.
2) Close the discharge valve.
3) Fill the pump with liquid or prime the pump with a vacuum pump.
4) Start the engine, gradually turn the discharge valve after the pump reaches its operating point to
achieve the desired performance.
Caution: The maximum continuous running time is 3 minutes for a pump operating with the discharge
valve closed.
4.2. Checking
1) Check the direction of rotation of the pump, which should be clockwise from the drive side.
2) Check the alignment of the couplings of both pump and motor before use. Excessive tolerance will
damage the flexible elements in a short period of time, and will also cause over standard vibration as
well as noise.
3) Check the leakage of the stuffing boxes and the tightness of the stuffing box cover; make them sui-
table for the work. If provided with a mechanical seal, make sure that the pump is running with water
in it, otherwise the dynamic and stationary rings will wear out in dry running.
4) Check the oil level, which should be kept in the range specified by the oil gauge. If it is grease, make
sure that the bearings are filled with grease.
4.3. Stopping
1) Gradually lower the discharge valve, disconnect the power supply.
2) Drain the remaining water inside the pump to avoid cracks, while the temperature is blown down
from 0ºC.
3) To keep the pump out of use for a long time, disassemble into spare parts, store them in a suitable
place after lubrication.

4.4 Operation and maintenance

1) Gauge readings are very important in start-up and operation. Care should be taken with regard to
heating, leakage, vibrations and noise. Abnormal cases should be handled immediately after disco-
very.
2) Bearings are not allowed to work at the temperature of 40ºC higher than the surrounding tempera-
ture, and the Max. temperature is 80ºC.
