5. WARNING
The tool is robust and requires very little daily maintenance.
Compliance with the following points, should help to maintain the optimum performance of the tool:
5.1) Accurate cleaning
Dust, sand and dirt are a danger for any hydraulic device.
Avoid placing the pump on muddy or dusty ground.
Every day, after use, the tool must be cleaned with a clean cloth, taking care to remove any residual,
especially close to pivots and moveable parts.
5.2) Storage
When not in use, the tool should be suitably protected and stored to prevent damage.
The oil pressure inside the head must always be completely refeased before disconnecting the head
from the hose.
5.3) Flexible hose
The fl exible hose is suitable for high operating pressure but when operating it should not be tightly
bent, knotted, kinked or squashed. When used, the hose must be kept straight in order to avoid
any kinking.
5.4) Reservoir venting
To improve oil delivery and increase usable oil capacity it is important to vent the reservoir by the
screw on the fi ller plug (04).
6. MAINTENANCE
All maintenance operations should be performed with the oil pressure released and the air supply
disconnected.
Regular routine maintenance should be carried out as follows:
– Lubricate pivot pin (08) with some drops of oil, to avoid seizure after intensive use.
– Check oil level in the reservoir (14) (at least every 6 months or 80 working hours).
The minimum level is at 15 mm (0.6 in.) below the edge of the fi ller plug, top up oil, if necessary
(ref. to point 6.1).
– Purge air and air bubbles or residuals from the system (refer to point 6.2).
A special servicing could be:
– To replace the high pressure hose (ref. to point 6.3).
– High pressure valve calibration control (ref. to point 6.4).
6.1) Oil top up
– Keep the pump on a fl at surface.
– Unscrew the reservoir cap (04) and top up the oil, until the hole is reached.
– Tighten the reservoir cap (04).
Always use clean recommended oil, see § 1.
Do not use old or recycled oil.
Do not hydraulic brake fl uid.
Ensure that disposal of used oil, is in accordance with current legislation.
