- SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

Campagnola declines all responsibilities if the precautions below are not taken.

1) SOUND LEVEL

Equivalent continuous A-weighted sound pressure level in the workplace measured in accordance with UNI EN
ISO 3744:
2) LEVEL OF VIBRATIONS
Root mean square frequency-weighted acceleration to which the hand-arm system is exposed measured in accord-
ance with EN ISO 5349:

2.1 General precautions

Always use adequate clothing as called for by the job. Wear tight clothing. Do not wear ties, necklaces or belts
which may get caught in the moving parts. Use a helmet, safety shoes and gloves.
Do not operate, service or repair the equipment if you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs which could
impair your alertness or co-ordination.
Do not operate the shear if the blades (17) are damaged or excessively worn out.
Only well trained and qualified personnel who have read the use and maintenance manual carefully are allowed to
use the shear.
Keep children and animals away from the shear.
Never alter the safety and protective devices.
The operator is the only responsible for injuries caused to other people or for damage caused to their properties.
Do not use the shears when you are in unstable position or off balance.
It is forbidden to operate the shears on ladders.
Keep your free hand away from the operating shear.
Before any maintenance operations are carried-out, switch the shear off.
Shear shall be strictly used for the purposes described in par. 'Product Description' only. Other uses could cause
injuries and/or damages.
When the shear is not used, turn the switch (8) off (in position 0) and put the shear into its holster (29) with closed
blades (17). For the transport the shear shall always be kept in its protection holster (29).

2.2 Tool operating precautions

• Always hold the tool with both hands on the handle and make sure you are in a steady and safe work position.
• Shear shall be strictly used for the purposes described in par. 'Product Description'. Other uses could cause injuries and/or
damages.
• Always make sure the active safety catch (13) is efficiently locking the trigger (14).
• The flashing ON-OFF light (15) indicates that the batteries (2) are flat.
• Before re-charging the batteries (2), switch the ON-OFF switch (8) (in position 0) off and put the shear into its holster (29)
with closed blades (17).
• Do not open the electronic card box (9).
• Do not leave the shear in the rain, but keep it in a dry place.
• Do not carry the shear by the cable (11).
• Do not use a different battery charger (21) from that supplied by CAMPAGNOLA S.r.l. It may cause serious damages to the
tool and injuries to the user.
