Format
Geometry adjustments
BeoVision 5 provides the opportunity to choose from three different picture
formats by means of the Beo4 remote control.
FORMAT 1: Panoramic (default) shows the largest picture and 4:3 standard
picture. Press
FORMAT 2: Letter box view. It is possible to move the picture up or down by
pressing m or
FORMAT 3: 16:9 wide screen. Format 3 will usually be selected automatically, but
can be selected manual.
"Geometry adjustments" only have to be made in format 3.
Press TV and toggle the LIST key until the Beo4 display reads FORMAT, then press
1, 2 or 3 to select a format.
Geometry parameters must be done in NTSC system.
Play track 8.2 (Test pattern) on the test DVD.
Geometry parameters only have to be made in format 3. Select FORMAT 3.
Enter Service mode, press MENU MENU 0 0 GO within 3 seconds, and select the
GEOMETRY PARAMETERS line in the Monitor service menu.
Select the NTSC line in the Geometry parameters menu and press GO.
When the cursor is placed on the first item press GO. Now a sub menu appear.

GO to store the adjustments. Press STOP to return to the Geometry parameters
main menu.
VPO (Vertical Position)
Adjust VPO to centre the picture on the screen.
VSZ (Vertical Size)
Adjust VSZ to the correct vertical hieght of the picture.
HPO (Horizontal Position)
Adjust VPO to centre the picture on the screen.
HSZ (Horizontal Size)
Adjust HSZ to the correct width of the picture.
It may be necessary to repeat the adjustments.
To avoid image burn-in on the plasma display there must after adjustments not be
black edges at the top and bottom and at the sides of the picture.
Item 1, 2, 4 and 5 in the Geometry parameters menu are fi xed values.
