(Fig. 4a). Then reattach the logo to the tongue of the boot and stow the rest of the laces se-
curely. To release the lacing stopper and open the lacing, release the locking knob and push
the lacing stopper upwards. (Fig. 4b)
SIZE AND WIDTH ADJUSTMENT (FIG. 5-7)
Size adjustment (Fig. 5)
The currently set skate size is indicated by an arrow on the size marker on the outside of the
skate below the toe cap. To adjust the skate size, the quick release fastener and power strap
must be open. To increase the skate size, press and hold the locking knob on the inside of
the boot (Fig. 5) while pushing the toe cap forward from the inside with your hand in the
shaft of the boot. Alternatively, you can pull the toe cap from the outside. To reduce the skate
size, also keep the locking knob pressed while pushing the toe cap back. When the desired
skate size is reached, make sure that the locking knob engages and that it jumps back to its
original position. Attention! Do not turn the locking knob completely in the counter-clockwise
direction.
Width adjustment (Fig. 6-7)
Remove the Allen key from the compartment designed for this purpose below the heel area
of the left boot (Fig. 6). To increase the width of the boot, turn the screw on the outer side of
the skate clockwise with the Allen wrench. To reduce the width, turn the Allen wrench coun-
ter-clockwise. (Fig 7) Then stow the Allen key back in its compartment to keep it handy and
not to lose it. If the Allen key is lost, a standard Allen key of 3mm can also be used for adjust-
ment. Since the left and right foot are never completely the same, the correct width is indi-
vidual and should be adjusted to fit the foot. This is best done by feeling the foot in the boot.
It is important to choose a comfortable setting, which nevertheless offers good support, by
means of the infinitely variable adjustment.
STARTING OUT IS THE HARDEST PART ...
... most accidents happen to "beginners" within the first ten minutes. Particular care
should be taken during this stage.
You should not run around with the included protection against cuts. Risk of tripping.
SKATING TECHNIQUE
• Only use the product to go skating on specifically designated skating areas and for the
purpose it has been designed for.
• When starting out, keep to the edge of the area and hold on to a suitable object (fence)
or ask somebody to lead you for the first couple of steps.
• Please make sure that you are standing straight on the blades to prevent twisting your
ankles. The blades should stand at a right angle to the ice.
• To skate, push forward with the inner edge of one of the blades, held at a slight angle,
and slide over the ice with your weight on the other blade.
• Keep your knees slightly bent while skating and lean for ward slightly with your upper
body. Do not look at your feet while skating, but always in the direction in which you're
moving.
• Continue by taking small steps, while shifting your body weight from one foot to the
other and placing your feet at an outward angle.
• To stop, leave both feet on the ice and let yourself skid to a stop. While doing so, use
your arms to keep your balance.
• Beginners are recommended to attend an ice skating course.
MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE
• The boots should be dried after each use.
• After each use, clean the metal parts of your ice skates with a soft cloth.
• The blades are hollow-ground. From time to time, the blades should be reground. This
service is offered at ice skating rinks and in large sports stores. Please note that the
blade holder must not be adjusted while the blade is being ground. After grinding, there
must be a radius of 5 mm at the end of the blade. Otherwise, the skate may become
unsafe to use.
• If the skates aren't being used for a prolonged period of time, it is recommended to
grease the blades slightly to prevent them from becoming rusty.
• Check the skates for damage and wear and tear before and after use, and make sure
that all fasteners are firmly closed.
Use a dry or damp cloth only to clean the product; do not use special cleaning agents!
Check the product for damage or traces of wear and tear before and after each use. Do not
make any structural changes. For your own safety, please use original spare parts only.
