Controller operation
Floor heating manual reset protection
A manual reset protection is present in 80AW1/80AWT
modules and in the zone kit with 3 way valve for 80AW2
modules.
If water in the circuit reaches 60°C, the device stops the
water pump, to avoid circulating too hot water in underfl oor
circuits.
Additionally a message is displayed on the user interface.

Economy mode (ECO)

In ECO mode the room temperature set point is reduced.
The user / installer can regulate the setpoint reduction by
setting code 14.
This mode is selected
-
from the key pad display (code 02 set to ECO).
-
by opening a dry contact from a time clock or a telephone
command, not included, connected to the electronic
control (in this case the installer should set code 32 to
ECO).

Cooling mode

Cooling mode is selected setting code 0 to ON and code 1
to COOLING.
For the modules 80AW_ _ _H cooling is not possible.
On 80AW2 modules, cooling is by default not permitted; to
allow cooling in zone 1 the installer should set code 47 to
YES, to allow cooling in zone 2, the installer should set code
48 to YES.
The water temperature to be achieved in the circuit is set
by the installer and is constant whatever the outside air
temperature.
The room temperature setpoint is set by the user.
Room setpoint is set by the user through code 8 for zone 1
and code 11 for zone 2.
The installer sets the water temperature setpoint for zone 1
(code 26) and zone 2 (code 27).
For 80AW2 modules , water setpoint for zone 1 and 2 is
shown in codes 45 and 46, , while main water setpoint,
which is connected to the minimum between codes 45 and
46, is shown in code 44.
For 80AW1/80AWT modules, the water setpoint is shown in
code 44.

Sanitary water mode

The temperature of the sanitary water is determined by the
sanitary water tank control.
When sanitary water needs to be heated, the hydronic
module sends the primary water to the sanitary water
tank and the CDU is operated in heating at the maximum
frequency possible.
While the sanitary water is heated up, heating or cooling in
the zones is provided using the energy stored in the system.
Sanitary water heating has priority over heating / cooling
of the zones.
NOTE
For fl oor circuits, only use ECO mode over periods of few
days.
In cooling mode, the ECO signal has no eff ect.

Antifreeze protection mode (A_F)

In Antifreeze protection mode, heating is activated only if
the room temperature is below 12 °C.
This mode is selected
-
from the key pad display (code 02 set to A_F).
-
by opening a dry contact from a time clock or a telephone
command, not included, connected to the electronic
controls (in this case the installer should set code 32 to
A_F).
NOTE
In cooling mode, the A_F signal has no eff ect.
The CDU operates in order to reach the main water setpoint.
The eventual 3 way valve (80AW2 modules) in the zone kit
mixes the outlet of the water tank with the return fl ow from
the circuit, in order to fi ne tune the water temperature in
the zone.
The CDU turns off when water is colder than the main water
setpoint or when the room temperature is colder than the
room setpoint.
In case of connection with fl oor circuit the recommended
room setpoint is 22 °C and the recommended water
setpoint is 18 °C.
This water temperature is suffi cient to cool the room by 2
to 3°C and avoids any risk of condensation occurring on
the foor.
If the CDU is unable to meet the sanitary heating duty
(e.g. at very low temperatures in winter, or if in fault mode)
supplementary electric heater inside the sanitary water tank
can be activated.
