Always replace the screw locking device!
Thread-locking fluid
When using thread-locking fluid, opt for a medium-strength product (e.g. Loctite 243). This
type of compound can be loosened with increased force. If the screw cannot be loosened,
then the compound must be heated to approx. 300 °C (572 °F). Clean the components thor-
oughly after dismantling.
Mechanical screw locking
The mechanical screw locking device consists of two Nord-Lock wedge lock washers. The
screw connection is secured by the clamping force. The Nord-Lock screw locking device
must only be used on bolts with strength class 10.9 which have been coated with Geomet.
The use of stainless screws is prohibited!
▪ Readjusting the cutting gap.
The gap between cutting plate and blade is approx. 0.1 mm (0.004 in). If the gap becomes
too great, then cutting performance is impaired and clogging will increase. In this case,
readjust the gap.
Necessary tools
▪ Torque wrench with size 4 Allen wrench insert
▪ Size 5 Allen wrench
▪ Size 4 Allen wrench

1. Unscrew the four grub screws from the cutting plate.

2. Push the cutting plate against the internal blade until the stop is reached.
3. Screw in the four cylinder-head screws by hand until they fit closely against the cutting

plate. NOTICE! Do not fully tighten the cylinder-head screws!

4. Screw the four grub screws into the cutting plate again and tighten crosswise with a
torque wrench. Observe the following pattern when tightening:
• Grub screw 1: 3 Nm (2 ft·lb)
• Grub screw 2: 6 Nm (4 ft·lb)
• Grub screw 1: 6 Nm (4 ft·lb)
• Grub screw 3: 3 Nm (2 ft·lb)
• Grub screw 4: 6 Nm (4 ft·lb)
• Grub screw 3: 6 Nm (4 ft·lb)
