Switching on the illuminated magnifier
Switch on the illuminated magnifier by pressing the rocker switch
located on the handle of the magnifier. This causes the reading field
and reading line to be illuminated.
A bright horizontal line and a dimmer orientation field can now be
seen in the lens.
The red control lamp shows whether the magnifier is connected to
the mains supply. If the small red lamp does not come on after the
magnifier has been switched on, this means that it is either not
plugged in or power supplies have been disrupted.
If, in spite of the red lamp coming on, there is no illumination, this
means that the halogen lamp is defective and must be replaced.
Adjusting the brightness
The brightness adjuster is located between the on/off switch and the
control lamp (see diagram).
Turning the brightness adjuster to the left will cause the illumination
to dim, turning it to the right will cause it to become brighter.
If the high performance halogen lamp is set to medium brightness,
it will have an average life expectancy of approximately 1000
operating hours.
Any major fluctuations in power supplies can substantially reduce
the life expectancy of the lamp.
