The nameplate, which may contain cautionary or other infor-
mation of importance to maintenance personnel, should NOT
be obscured in any way. Ensure that the name-plate remains
readable when the housing's exterior is painted.

If the glass dome is damaged in any way it MUST be replaced.
•
After performing any maintenance, test the light system to
ensure that it operates properly.
Failure to follow all safety precautions and instructions may result
in property damage, serious injury, or death.
Replacing the Strobe Tube
As strobe tubes are used, they characteristically begin to darken,
causing the light output to decrease. The darkening begins near the
base of the tube and progresses upward. In addition, as flash tubes
age, they may tend to misfire (not fire periodically).
After extended operation of the light, occasionally check for the
degradation of the flash tube. Replace the flash tube if it misfires,
shows a noticeable decrease in light output, glows continuously,
or darkens beyond the point shown in Figure 4. See Table 2 on
page 14 for Federal Signal replacement parts.
