The unit has been parked for a
lengthy period with the forks raised
and the rod exposed so that
rust has formed.
The setting screw is not
positioned correctly

Some parts are torn or worn
5) The forks lower without the outlet valve functioning
The outlet valve does not
close properly due to contamination
in the oil
Air is getting into the oil
Seals are worn or damaged

Remove the rust from the rod
and lower the forks as far as possible
when the unit is not in use
Adjust the setting screw (see III.4)
Replace the seals
Check and replace these parts
Replace the oil with fresh oil
Remove the oil (see IV.2)
Replace the seals
Adjust the setting screw
