Use of detergent and softener
NOTE:
Before using detergent, softener, starch, dye, bleach or descaler, carefully read the
manufacturer's instructions on the package and follow the dose recommendations. Use a
graduated container if necessary.

The detergent drawer is made up of three compartments:

Pre-wash compartment

Fabric softener compartment
( ) There is also a U-bend in the softener compartment.
Detergent, fabric softener and other cleaning products
• Add detergent and fabric softener before starting the washing programme.
• Do not open the detergent drawer during the wash cycle.
• When using a programme without prewash, no detergent should be put in the prewash
compartment (compartment ).

• When using a prewash programme, no liquid detergent should be put in the prewash
compartment (compartment 1 ).
• Do not use a prewash programme if you are using detergent tablets/capsules or a
detergent dosing ball. You can place these items directly into the drum.
If you are using liquid detergent, remember to insert the liquid detergent dispenser into the
main wash compartment (compartment

Choice of detergent
The type of detergent to be used depends on the washing programme and the type and
colour of the fabric.
• Use different detergents for coloured and white laundry.
• For delicate clothes, use only the suggested programmes and special detergents (liquid
detergent, special wool detergent, etc.) intended only for delicate clothes.
• When washing dark coloured clothes and duvet covers, we recommend using a liquid
detergent.
• Wash woollens on the suggested programme and with a special detergent.
• Refer to the programme description chapter for the suggested programmes for each type
of fabric.
• All recommendations for detergents apply to the selectable temperature range of the
programmes.
WARNING:
Use only detergents that are specifically designed for use in a washing
machine.
Dose of detergent
The dose of the product to be used depends on the quantity of laundry, the level of dirtiness
and the hardness of the water.
• Never use more detergent than recommended on the package to avoid problems with
excess suds, poor rinsing, financial costs and, ultimately, the protection of the environment.
• Use lower doses of detergent than those recommended for small quantities of laundry or
slightly dirty clothes.
Use of a fabric softener
Place the fabric softener in the dedicated compartment inside the detergent drawer.
• Never exceed the (> max <) level mark in the fabric softener compartment.
• If the fabric softener has become less fluid, dilute it with water before putting it in the
detergent drawer.
