4.14.1. Back sling

The more taut the back sling, the more rigid the backrest will feel. First
remove the back cushion which is fixed in place with a hook and loop
fastener. You can then change the tension of the individual straps so
that they are more or less taut. In order to relieve tension on certain
areas of your back, you can make the straps there slightly looser. You

must now refix the back padded cover with the hook and loop fastener.

4.14.2. Backrest height

2
In order to be able to adjust the backrest height, we recommend
removing the sideguards and back padded cover first. You can then
undo the screw fitting on both sides (Fig. 29) and move the frame to
the required height. Then refit the screws in the recesses provided for
this purpose and tighten them by hand.

4.15. Push handles

The height of the push handles can be adjusted to make it more
comfortable for the attendant. Undo the lever screw (Fig. 30) on the
push handle and move to the required height. Then re-tighten the lever
screw to lock the push handle in place.

4.16. Transit wheels (optional)

With the transit wheels you can reduce the width and length of your
wheelchair. Please note that you no longer have handrims and the
parking brake will no longer function. A different parking brake is
installed which is difficult for the user to reach
This retrofit is usually permanent, it is not designed to be reversed.

4.17. Tipping aids

In order to make it easier for an attendant to negotiate obstacles such
as kerb edges, tipping aids can be used. Hold the wheelchair firmly
with both hands on the push handles. Press one foot onto one of the
tipping aids and at the same time push the hands down (Fig. 31).
Tipping may be restricted by the anti-tip wheels.

4.18. Anti-tip wheels (optional)

The anti-tip wheels prevent the wheelchair from tipping over backwards.
There must be a gap between the rollers of the anti-tip wheels and the
ground of approx. 30-50 mm (Fig. 32).
Anti-tip wheels are particularly recommended for inexperienced
wheelchair users or amputees.
For safety reasons, always use the anti-tip wheels
as a pair!

4.19. Headrest (optional)

The headrest is mounted on the push handles.
After undoing the clamp lever or the star screw you can adjust the
headrest to the right position.
Then re-tighten the screws.

4.20. One-hand operation (optional)

With one-hand operation you have both handrims on one wheel, so
that you can operate both drive wheels with one hand.
The option can be fitted either left or right.

4.21. Reflectors

As standard your wheelchair is fitted with reflectors on the back and
spokes. These must not be covered.
