ously lit – clears the currently saved
positions

button for 10 seconds
• Invert board button
◇ Main function: Invert the
board – the black pieces
are now at the front
◇ Additional function: Under-
promotion to a knight

LEDs (9 levels)
◇ Additional function: Under-
promotion to a bishop
• Bluetooth button
◇ Main function: Bluetooth
connection ON/OFF
◇ Additional function: Under-
promotion to a rook
◇ Note: If transferring data
via USB cable, Bluetooth

off!
Note on using the front buttons:
Always press the 3 front
buttons using your flat
finger.
5. PLAYING WITH THE EONE
Briefly press the ON/OFF switch. All start-
ing position squares, or those of the last
finishing position, flash.
5.1. Setting down the pieces
Set up the starting position on the board.
When you do so, please note:
• The white pieces are at the front (near
the function buttons).
• If the 'invert board' function has been
activated (left LED with arrow lit up),
then the black pieces are at the front.
Once all pieces have been set down, the
LEDs go out and the board is now ready
for play.
5.2. Making moves
Make your moves in the usual manner.
Please note:
When castling, first move the king, then
the rook.
5.3. Flashing LEDs
Flashing LEDs indicate when a move on
the board is incorrect. Retract the most
recent move and set the piece down again
in order to correct the error. It is usually
enough to just briefly lift the most recently
placed piece again.
For capturing moves in particular, ensure
you lift both pieces. Check to see if the
position on the board possibly does not
comply with the rules of chess (for exam-
ple, your king is in check position!).
5.4. Pawn promotion
To promote a pawn to a queen, place it
on the final row. To promote a pawn to a
knight, lift the pawn on row 7 (or 2). The
3 buttons on the front now flash. Con-
firm the desired piece using one of the
3 buttons, and set it down on the target
square. Important: Even if your opponent is
performing an underpromotion, you must
still proceed in exactly the same way.
