Robotino 4 Charging Station – Operating instructions
The contacts on the charging station's docking plug (8) do not carry any voltage when there is no Robotino 4
docked in the station. The green LED (1) on the top of the charging station indicates whether or not voltage
is being applied to the contacts of the docking plug (8), i.e. whether or not a Robotino 4 is docked in the
station.
The charging station provides three different types of detection for start-up programs:
1. Start-up using the camera and the distance sensors in the Robotino 4.
2. Start-up using the camera and marker sensing.
3. Start-up using an optional laser scanner and reflector sensing.
7.2 Commissioning
1. Place the charging station in the room.
2. Depending on which start-up process you are using, install either the illuminated marker (4) or the two
reflectors (3) on the top of the charging station. Use the enclosed assembly kit to do this.
3. Plug the power supply cable into the IEC plug (5).
4. Switch the charging station on using the On/off switch (7).
5. Install the plug contact (order no. 8131075) on the front charging dock of the Robotino 4 as described in
the assembly instructions (on the left based on the direction of movement) and wire the plug contact up
to the battery PCB.
18
A plug contact (order no. 8131075) must be installed on the Robotino 4 to establish
the connection between the charging station and the Robotino 4. Assembly
instructions are enclosed with the plug contact.
Danger of electric shock!
The charging station's power supply cable must not be positioned within the robot's
range of action. The connecting cable could be damaged by the drive pulleys.
Tripping hazard
Do not place the charging station on transit routes.
