A2 INSTRUCTIONS FOR PERIODIC MAINTENANCE

Warning! Before carrying out any intervention on the filter other than cleaning operation,
place the filter in by-pass position.

If maintenance requires disassembly of the equipment, parts which come in contact with drinking
water must be handled with care from hygienic point to avoid contamination of the hydraulic
system. Use suitable disposable gloves. Any tools used must be cleaned and disinfected before
use.
Periodic maintenance is foreseen on two levels expressly defined in relation to the difficulty:
Ordinary maintenance: can be carried out by the end user and consists of periodic cleaning
of the filter.
Extraordinary maintenance: extraordinary maintenance must only be performed by qualified
technical personnel.
A2.1 Ordinary maintenance
Periodically perform the following checks:
- External visual inspection with regard to leak tightness.
- Make cleaning and discharge of the dirt accumulated on the cartridge: every 3-4 days and
anyhow when the hydraulic pressure at users disposal is reduced (clogging of the filter
elements) rotate clockwise the upper green knob. If necessary repeat the operation. Put the
filter back in the filtrating position (verify that the bottom discharge is closed). During the
cleaning operation the filter discharges some water. The discharge connection must be
canalized in a drain.
- Clean the external parts of the filter (knob, brass body and bowl) only with a soft damp
cloth. Do not use any kind of solvents.
Warning! In order to obtain an effective cleaning of the filter a minimum water pressure
of 2 bar is required. If necessary, during the filter cleaning operation, the shut off valve
positioned downstream of the filter should be closed.
NO USE PERIOD
For periods of less than 30 days, perform the filter cleaning operation repeatedly (4-5 times). For
non-use periods longer than 30 days, you must proceed to filter sanitization. With "non-use" it is
meant that the plumbing system remains still without any water being drawn from the taps (e.g.
