4 INSTALLATION AND START-UP

4.1

Installation

The tool is supplied with the oil tank empty and the chain and chain bar disassembled.
The following operations must be performed during the first use:
Assembly of the guide bar and chain. See paragraph 4.1.1.
Adjust the correct tension in the pruner chain. See paragraph 4.1.2.
Fill the oil tank and lubricate the chain. See paragraph 4.1.3.
Fully charge the supplied battery packs. See paragraph 4.1.4
After the first use, before starting work you must:
Check that no screws have loosened on the tool and on the bar;
Check that the chain is properly tensioned, sharp and without signs of damage;
Check that the grips are clean and dry;
Check that the extendable pole is firmly locked by the ring nut;
Check that the oil level in the tank is not below the last bar (minimum) and top up to the maximum level if needed.

Assembly of the bar and chain

CAUTION!
Remove the battery from the tool before performing any work on it. Injury hazard is still present in case of involun-
tary operation.
CAUTION!
The teeth of the chain are sharp, put on protective gloves before starting.
Carry out the following operations as listed below:
1. Turn off the tool with the ON / OFF button (9) and remove the battery pack (21) by pressing on the flaps (22).
2. Unscrew the nut (3) all the way using the supplied spanner until you can remove the front casing (5).
3. Turn the adjusting screw (4) anticlockwise until it stops.
4. Mount the chain on the bar, inserting the feather keys of the chain transmission links (1) in the groove of the bar.
Pay attention to respect the correct cutting direction.
5. Place the bar and chain on the tool making sure that:
the guide links of the chain are inserted in the teeth of the pinion
the eyelet on the bar is inserted in the guide on the tool body.
The chain tensioning pin (11) is inserted in the corresponding hole on the bar.
6. Re-mount the casing (5) and screw the nut (3) without tightening it. Correctly tension the chain according to the
instructions in the next paragraph.
