Packaging:
1. Place the motion element, the program-
ming unit, and the operating instructions
in the cut-outs in the foam pad provided
for them.
2. Then close the box.
Only use the original shipping box to
transport the device. Ormed GmbH (DJO)
cannot be held liable for transport damage
if the device was not shipped in its original
shipping box.

Shock hazard –
Allow the ARTROMOT®-S4 to reach
room temperature before use. If the
device was transported at temperatures
below 0°C (32°F), allow it to stand at
room temperature for about 2 hours, un-
til all condensation has disappeared. The
same applies if the devices was stored at
temperatures in the maximum storage
temperature range.

6.4 Conversion

The ARTROMOT®-S4 can be used for the
left and for the right shoulder joint. How-
ever, the device must be converted first. This
is done very quickly.
Select the "Ri/LE Conversion" function
the menu (also refer to 5.3). The display will
show the conversion steps in an interactive
manner. Follow the instructions to convert
the CPM device. Each time you confirm
completion of a step with "OK", the next
step is automatically displayed.
These are the steps:
1. Open the clamping lever for adjusting the
height of the armrest for the healthy arm
(5) and remove.
Open the locking screw for adjusting the
width of the armrest for the healthy arm
(6) and remove.
Mount the armrest for the healthy arm
on the opposite side by carrying out the
two preceding steps in reverse order.
2. Open the clamping lever for adjusting the
length of the forearm support (26) and
remove.
3. Perform adjustment
elbow angle of 0°.
4. Open the thumbscrew (33) that secures
the motion element on the system rack
and remove. Then mount and secure it on
the opposite side.
5. You will be prompted to press START.
Press the START button: the motors will
automatically move to the appropriate
position on the opposite side.
6. Install the forearm support and close
clamping lever (26).
7. Perform adjustment
elbow angle of 90°.
8. Press START: the device will move to the
starting position stored on the chip card.
