Troubleshooting

You can often easily eliminate problems that may
occur on your own. Before calling customer service,
take into account the following information.
Malfunction
© appears on the display. The deep
fryer doesn't heat up.
Appliance turns off. Hyphens are blink-
ing on the display.
Display indicates error message
(e.g. F01, F02, etc.).
© lights up on display. The deep fryer
doesn't heat up.
The food is raw on the inside.
The food doesn't turn crispy and brown
anymore.

Possible cause
The child lock is activated.
Safety lock.
Electronic malfunction
Overheating protection: no or too little
oil or fat in the deep frying basin.
Overheating protection: the appliance
has been set to a frying temperature,
although the frying fat is still cold and
has not been melted on the fat melting
setting.
Appliance was turned on with heating
element folded out or not fully down.
Overheating due to old fat or oil.
If the © symbol lights up after turning
the appliance back on, although the
appliance is completely cooled down,
notify the Gaggenau customer service.
Wrong temperature and deep frying
time.
Old fat or oil.
Solution
Turn off child lock.
Turn off appliance. Then you can turn it on
again as usual.
Call Gaggenau customer service.
Turn off appliance and let it completely
cool down. Fill with oil or fat at least to the
minimum mark.
Switch off the appliance and leave to cool
down fully. Select the fat melting setting
¨ to melt the frying fat.
Turn off appliance and let it completely
cool down. Fold down heating element.
Turn off appliance and let it completely
cool down. Replace deep frying fat or oil.
Lower temperature, increase deep frying
time.
Use fresh fat or oil.
