1. To turn the unit on, gently turn the knob clockwise.
2. Set the desired operating mode:
A. DISC (discrimination) mode:
a) Press the DISC button, then "+" or "-" to set the numerical discrimination
value (00-80).
b) If the discrimination value is set to 00, the detector will find all types of
metals.
c)
If the discrimination value is set to 80, the detector will find only those
metals whose value in the METAL TABLE is specified as ≥80.
d) To eliminate some categories from detection, set the numerical
discrimination value according to the digital object identification (see
METAL TABLE).
e) For example: the numerical range for category 5¢ is 6-17. To eliminate
this category, press the DISC button and then set, for example, 06 or 10
using the "+" or "-" buttons.
f)
If the DISC, "+" or "-" button is not pressed within 2 seconds, the unit will
go into standby mode.
g) To restore the eliminated target to the detector's search list, set the
discrimination value to 00.
CAUTION!

If the highest value is selected, there is a risk that the target will be missed.
B. NOTCH mode (selective discrimination, indentation)
a) Press the NOTCH button and then "+" or "-" to select the category of
metal to be eliminated.
b) Each press of the "+" or "-" button moves to the next category.
The cursor over the selected metal type will flash. Pressing the NOTCH
button again will eliminate the selected target from the search range and
the target name under the cursor will disappear.
CAUTION!
If the NOTCH function is applied to all categories, the detector will
not find anything.
CAUTION!
If after pressing NOTCH you want to select another setting, i.e. DISC
or SENS, wait about 3 seconds until the cursor above the target disappears (until the
unit exits NOTCH mode).
