The adhesive reaches its final strength only after 24 hours. During this time, the guiding device should not be
cut and it should not be used for work.
Risk of damaging the new chip breaker guard due to a blunt saw blade
The installed new chip breaker guard must be cut to size to fit the saw before the first cut.
➢
Use a sharp saw blade to prevent the chip breaker guard from cracking.
Use the following procedure to cut the chip breaker guard to size:
1.
Put the guiding device on a level surface.
2.
Position the machine you want to work with on the guiding device.
3.
Set the cutting depth of the machine you are using to 3 mm (0.12 in) and the angle scale to 0°.
4.
Switch on the machine and advance it steadily in the cutting direction over the entire length of the guiding
device.
5.
Switch off the machine.
The produced edge of the chip breaker guard now corresponds exactly to the rear cutting edge of
➢
the saw blade.
The chip breaker guard is cut to size and can be used with the machine.
