5.2 Replacement of the chip breaker guard - version M/ML/L
This section applies only to the M/ML/L versions of the guiding device.
Use the following procedure to replace the chip
breaker guard:
1.
Pull the black edge protector off the guiding
device.
2.
You can now pull out the old red chip breaker
guard.
We recommend using a small pair of flat-

nose pliers to remove the edge protector
and the chip breaker guard.
3.
As the new chip breaker guard, use the F-SS
3.4M accessory and cut the tape to the required
length.
4.
Rub the cut tape in soapy water.
5.
Insert the wet tape into the guide.
We recommend using a small pair of flat-
➢
nose pliers to thread the new chip breaker
guard into the guide.
6.
Insert the clamping wedge at the lower end of
the guiding device.
7.
Break off the bracket on the clamping wedge.
The wedge remains in the plastic section.
➢
The bracket can be disposed of.
