5. Commissioning, operation
After selecting or configuring the desired instrument, the measurement can be started
by tapping the green "Test Device" or "START" button.
The test assembly is shown on the screen.
Connect the gas density monitor with the hose pack. When connecting, it is essential
to ensure the correct leak tightness. For this, observe the further information on
mechanical assembly (→ see chapter 5.7 "Mechanical mounting"). Plug the other end of
the pressure hose into CON1 and the temperature probe into the Pt100 connection.
With the model GDM-100 or model GDM-RC-100 gas density monitor, shown here
with pre-welded model GLTC-VC recalibration valve, WIKA offers the possibility to
recalibrate gas density monitors in the field without prior dismounting, which makes a
decommissioning of the plant unnecessary.
The recalibration valve is also available as a retrofit solution for those gas density
monitors already in the field and can be mounted between the electrical system and
the gas density monitor. This means that in future a functional test will also be possible
without dismounting.
