This user manual applies to the Kongskilde CVL 700
(Component Vacuum Loader).
Description:
The CVL is a hopper loader for none uniform compo-
nents designed to separate capsules, caps and similar
plastic components produced in batches from, for ex-
ample, an injection molding machine. Components are
conveyed under vacuum to the CVL unit where they
are separated from the air stream to be discharged by
gravity to the next step of their process.
Pneumatic transport with the CVL can be designed as
a complete vacuum system that transports the com-
ponents from a collection point to a packing table, a
packing line, or in a container.
The CVL unit has a built in chamber, where the com-
ponents are collected prior to being discharged in
batches.
The unit has two integrated pneumatic cylinders; a top
valve that closes the flow of air and components, and
a bottom valve that opens the material outlet. Com-
ponent size, chamber size and air velocity defines the
total capacity of the system.

The CVL can be equipped with a blow back nozzle, to
secure against any components falling down into the
unit after the top valve has closed (this could cause
components to be caught in the closing bottom valve).
Furthermore, a level sensor can be installed, to opti-
mise the operation (accessories - see section "Instal-
lation").
The CVL is powered by compressed air and possibly
control signals to the control unit. The unit contains no
parts that need special service or maintenance.

Typical application:

Separation of plastic parts, and materials which could
be classified as a component, in defined amount, from
an airborne conveying system.
The unit has been designed to handle components in
sizes from 5 to 50 mm in cross section. The unit can
not handle liquids or sticky / moist components.
