Place the espresso machine on a flat, level and dry surface.
5.1. FILLING THE WATER TANK
The water tank is removable for easy cleaning.

Turn off the machine.

Fill the water tank with water and close the lid. Do not exceed the "MAX" level
mark on the tank.

To remove the water tank to clean or fill water, hold the tank on both sides and pull
up.
■
To reattach the water tank, slide the water tank back into the machine and gently
push it down.
5.2. MAKING ESPRESSO
To prepare a good cup of espresso, flush the espresso system and warm up the cup
before brewing.

Fill the water tank up to the "MAX" level mark.

Make sure the Steam Control knob is in the off position, then plug the power cord
firmly into an earthed power socket.

Press the On/Off button to turn the espresso machine on.
The On/Off button will light up and the Coffee button will start to blink to indicate
that the boiler is preheating the water. The Coffee button will stop blinking and
stay illuminated once preheated.
To flush the espresso system and warm up the cup

Perform steps 5 to 11 without adding ground coffee to the filter. Then follow steps
5 to 11 as normal to make espresso.
To make espresso

Insert the filter into the portafilter, add ground coffee, level the grounds and tamp
with a tamper. A measuring/tamping spoon is included with your machine.
■ One tablespoon of ground coffee makes 1 cup of espresso. Adjust according to
your taste.

While holding the portafilter handle under the insert position (
tabs on the portafilter with the slots in the group head, insert the portafilter into the
group head and turn the handle counterclockwise to the lock position (

Place the warm cup on the drip tray.

When the Coffee button stops blinking, press the button. The machine will start
the extraction and automatically stop when the preset volume has been extracted.
You can press the Coffee button to stop the extraction when you have obtained
the desired amount of coffee.

To remove the portafilter from the group head, turn the handle clockwise to the
insert position (
10. Lift the filter clip on the portafilter, press the clip to hold the filter in place and
discard the used coffee grounds.
11. Lower the filter clip and remove the filter. Rinse the portafilter and filter in hot
water, wipe out with a clean dry cloth and continue to brew the next cup of
espresso.
12. Check and empty the drip tray regularly during use.
13. Once finished using the espresso machine, press the On/Off button to turn the
appliance off.
14. Allow the appliance to cool down before cleaning (→ CLEANING AND CARE).
