Procedure:
Obtain the "froxxxxx.upd" firmware update file

(e.g. at http://www.fronius.com; xxxxx stands for the respective version num-
ber)
NOTE!
To ensure problem-free updates of inverter software, the USB thumb drive
should have no hidden partitions and no encryption (see the chapter "Suitable
USB Thumb Drives").
Save the firmware update file to the highest data level of the USB thumb

Open the lid of the data communication area on the inverter

Insert the USB thumb drive with the firmware update file into the USB sock-

et in the inverter data communication area
In the Setup menu, go to "USB" and select "Software Update"

Press the "Enter" key

Wait until the comparisons of the current software version on the inverter

and the new firmware version are displayed:
- First page: Recerbo software (LCD), key controller software (KEY), coun-
try setup version (Set)
- Second page: Software power module (PS1, PS2)
Press the "Enter" function key at the end of each page

The inverter begins copying the data.
"BOOT" and the save progress (%) of the individual tests are displayed until the
data for all electronic components has been copied.
Once the data has been copied, the inverter updates the required electronic
components in succession.
"BOOT", the affected component, and the update progress (%) are displayed.
The inverter updates the display in the last step.
The display remains dark for approx. 1 minute, the control and status LEDs flash.
Once the firmware update is complete, the inverter switches to the Startup
phase and then to grid power feed operation. Remove the USB thumb drive using
the "Safely remove hardware" function.
Individual settings in the Setup menu are retained when the inverter firmware is
updated.
