If antifreeze additives are used, ensure con-
tinuous use. Once added, the removal of anti-
freeze additive can cause malfunction of the
pneumatic components.
To avoid personal injuries during maintenance,
the main valve should be locked in a closed pos-
ition.
It is recommended that a pressure switch, warning for
insufficient pressure, is connected to the control sys-
tem.
14.3 Installation
Connect a compressed air supply to the inlet of the T-
piece (see
Figure
18/A).
15 Earth control measurement
Proper earth connection shall be checked after both
the main installation and regular maintenance work.
If a component, such as for example the top module,
is removed and refitted, the earth connection must be
verified.
15.1 Control measuring
A suitable measuring instrument must be used.
The earth connection is measured between GND1 and
the following components on FlexFilter EX (see
ure
23):
1
High top ring
2
Low top ring
3
Pressure relief panel
4 High inlet ring
5
Low inlet ring

The duct systems (in- and outlet) must not be con-
nected.
1
A) Disconnect the net earth from GND 1.
2
B) Measure between all components accord-
ing to the list above (see
(≤100 ).
3
C) Measure and check if contact between the
incoming duct system and the free coupled in-
coming net earth ( ≤10^5 ).
2
Connect the incoming duct system. Make sure that
there is a 2nd. earth connection between the duct
system and FlexFilter EX and that it is properly
earthed to the FlexFilter EX.
• A) Measure and check if contact between GND1
and external net earth ( ≤10^5 ).
• B) Reconnect net earth to GND1.

that there is an earth connection between the
duct system and FlexFilter EX).
16 Operation
WARNING! Risk of personal injury
Use proper protective equipment where there
is a risk of exposure to dust.
WARNING! Risk of personal injury
Activate the stop function on the TVFD before
removing the Bulk-bags.
WARNING! Risk of personal injury
Personnel operating the FlexFilter EX must pay
special attention to avoid the discharge of stat-
ic electricity. The requirements for safe use
and handling of combustible dust should be de-
scribed in the explosion protection document
and to all personnel.
16.1 Start and Stop description
The TVFD has a stop function that stops and evacu-
ates the compressed air to the TVFD. It works indi-
vidually for each TVFD. When the stop is activated
the TVFD slide valves will stop moving and the Filter
cleaning valve will be inactivated. The stop switch is
designed primarily to prevent the valves from mov-
ing when changing the collection bags and stopping
the closing of the valves if something is in the way. To
activate the stop function, flip the stop switch (see
Figure
21/9) down to "0". The quick exhaust valves
on the pneumatic cylinders will quickly remove the
remaining air pressure in the system and the mano-
meter (see
Figure
21/10) should show that there is no
pressure in the system.
16.2 Changing Bulk-bags
The Bulk-bags or similar must be replaced when they
are filled. How often this occurs varies for each install-
ation. Regular checks are recommended.
Use conductive bulk-bags/containers.
Replacing bag/bags by:
1
Activate the stop function by flipping the stop
switch (see
Figure
21/9) to position "0".
2
Remove (and close) bag opening from TVFD out-
let. Pay special attention to avoid unnecessary
spillage/leakage of dust and accidental discharge
of static electricity.
3
Remove the two earth clamps from the earth tags
on the bag.
4 Remove and replace the bag.
5
Refit the two earth clamps onto the earth tags.
6
Attach the bag opening to the TVFD outlet.
