- Always disconnect the electrical supply before installation and initial adjustment of the machine.
- Make sure the machine is well installed and correctly place and ground the object or metal being
cutted.
- The work clamp are electrically active when the machine is on. Do no touch these parts without
adequate isolation or with wet clothing. Wear dry gloves without holes to isolate your hands.
- Always make sure the work clamp is well connected to the material being welded. The connection
must be done as close as possible to the area being cutted.
- Maintain the work clamp, electrode holder, welding cables and welding machine in good condition.
- Replace damaged parts.
- Never dip the electrode in water for cooling.
- Never simultaneously touch electrically active parts of electrode holders or work clamps connected
to two welders.
- When working above oor level, use a safety belt to protect yourself from an accidental fall.
1.3. Fumes and gases.
- The gases and emissions produced during the cutting process can be dangerous and endanger your
health.
- Stay away from the column of smoke emitted by the process.
- Use an air lter if the ventilation is not adequate to remove them.
- The toxicity and type of gas emission depends on the metal being cut and its coatings.
- Special care must be taken when cutting any of the following metals: Antimony, Chromium, Cobalt,
Nickel, Lead, Cadmium, Vanadium, Manganese, Mercury, Barium, Copper, Beryllium, Selenium, Arsenic,
Avocado.
- Always read the safety sheet that must be delivered with the material you bought, this sheet gives
you information about the type and quantity of gases that can be harmful to your health.
- Use special equipment to trap gases.
- Do not use the equipment where there are fuel vapours, explosive gases or where combustible or
explosive material has been stored.
1.4. Arc rays
- Use a shield with an adequate lter to protect your eyes from sparks and the rays of the arc when
welding or for observing the welding arc.
- Use appropriate clothing made from ame-resistant material to protect your skin and that of your
helping personnel from the welding arc rays.
