NOTICE

When the pump is at a standstill, establish normal atmo-
spheric pressure in the lines.
The service life of the diaphragm can be extended, if no con-
densate forms in the pump. Therefore:
à
Perform any work with saturated or near-saturated vapors
only with a warm pump.
à
KNF recommends: When pumping corrosive media, flush
the pump before switching off (see Chapter 8.2.1 Flushing
the pump [} 40]) to extend the service life of the di-
aphragm.

Risk of dangerous gas mixtures during
pump operation if diaphragm breaks
If the diaphragm should break, the
medium will mix with the air in the com-
pressor housing or in the surroundings.

Stop pump immediately.
à
Replace the diaphragm prior to fur-
ther operation (see Chapter 8 Ser-
vicing [} 39]).
Operation with open suction-side gas
connection can result in contaminants
and objects being drawn in.
