7.2 Information on switching the pump on and
off
Switching on the pump
The pump must not start up against pressure during
switch-on. This also applies after a brief power outage
during operation. If a pump starts up against pressure,
motor may go into a stall condition.

Install an overload protector (see Chapter Electrical
connection).
à
Ensure that normal atmospheric pressure is present in the
lines when switching on.
à
Switch the pump on with the power switch (see Fig. 1).
Initialization of the electronics can take as long as a sec-
ond before the pump starts up, depending on the level of
the applied electrical voltage.
Switching off / decommissioning the pump
à
Switch the pump off with the power switch (see Fig. 1).
à
Establish normal atmospheric pressure in the lines (re-
lieve pump pneumatically).
à
Pull out power plug of the pump.
à
Before recommissioning, observe the applicable stan-
dards, guidelines, regulations and technical standards at
the electrical connection.
à
Inspect the pump periodically for external damage or leak-
age.
7.3 Signal connector
Only for pumps with external actuation on the control ca-
ble connection (9-pin connector on the pump).
