DEFECTS: If inspection reveals an unsafe or defective condition, or if there is any doubt about its condition for safe use,
remove the Lanyard from service immediately. Clearly mark the Lanyard "DO NOT USE" and then either destroy the
Lanyard or contact 3M regarding repair or replacement. Do not attempt to repair the device/system.
9 Only 3M or parties authorized in writing may make repairs to this equipment.
9 After equipment has been removed from service, it may not be returned to service until a Competent Person
confirms in writing that it is acceptable to do so.

PRODUCT LIFE: The functional life of a Lanyard is determined by work conditions and maintenance. As long as the
product passes inspection criteria, it may remain in service.
5.0 MAINTENANCE, SERVICING, STORAGE
5.1
CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS: Clean the Lanyard as follows:
Clean the Adjustable Rope Positioning Lanyard with soapy water and then air dry. Do not force dry with heat. An
excessive build-up of dirt, oil, etc. may prevent the Adjustable Rope Positioning Lanyard from working properly, and
in severe cases, weaken the rope.
9 Use a bleach-free detergent.
Water temperature for wash and rinse must not exceed 160° F (70° C).
9 Do not attempt to disassemble the unit.
5.3
STORAGE AND TRANSPORT: Store and transport the Lanyard in a cool, dry, clean environment out of direct sunlight.
Avoid areas where chemical vapors may exist. Thoroughly inspect the product after extended storage.
6.0 LABELS
These labels must be attached to the Adjustable Rope Positioning Lanyard. They must be fully legible. See Figure section for
Labels required.
