3.3.5.
UNIT MAINTENANCE
A. CLEANING THE MOVING PARTS OF THE CUTTING HEAD
After use, clean the oiled parts with a dry cloth. Use the brush provided to
clean up any residue left after clipping. Perform maintenance (see point
3.3.3) on the moving parts of the cutting head. This will prevent rust from
forming on the cutting elements.
B. INSTALLING THE CUTTING HEAD KNIVES
A pair of cutting head knives consists of two parts, the comb plate (Y) and
the blades (X). When assembling, make sure that the correct surfaces are
adjacent to each other.
To perform proper removal/assembly of the cutting blades, loosen
the tension nut (I). Lay the product on a hard surface so that the blade
retaining screws are on top.
Loosen the retaining screws (with the screwdriver provided) and
remove the pair of knives (II). Before seating the blades and comb plate,
make sure that the components are completely free of dirt. Even the
slightest amount of contamination can lead to malfunction of the unit.
Fit the blade into the tapered pivots of the clamping yoke and slide
the comb plate between the loosened fixing bolts (III).
