Operating Instructions – Spring Balancers
INSTALLATION, SETTING THE CABLE LENGTH AND BEARING LOAD
Installation
(ambient temperature: -20 °C to +70 °C)
• Only those duly trained and qualified may carry out installation, cable length adjustment
CAUTION!
and bearing load adjustment of the spring balancers.
• Types with plastic housings must not be positioned in direct vicinity to hot air fans.
• The fixture to which the spring balancers and the fall protection device (4) are attached
must be designed with at least a safety factor of 5
(5 x [spring balancer intrinsic weight + maximum permitted capacity]).
1. Use the safety mounting (2) to suspend the spring balancer .
2. Ensure that the spring balancers do not slip out of the safety suspension (2), could
tighten –> retaining nut (2.1).
3. Fasten the fall protection device (4) at the suspension fixture:
• In doing so, the freedom of movement of the spring balancer must not be
negatively affected.
• The fall should the spring balancer crash down must not exceed 100 mm!
Adjusting the cable length (only 7221 and 7222)
The spring balancers are delivered from the factory with a longer rope (10). Before start-up, the required cable
additional length must be adjusted.
1. To lengthen the cable (10), pull it through the cable lock (7). The minimum 100 mm spacing shown between cable
lock (7) and cable clamp (9) must be kept to.
2 On reaching the required length, press the supplied press clamp (8) on the non-loaded section of the cable.
3. Cut off the protruding end of the cable behind the press clamp (8).
