Boiler ignition (see page 90). Before ignition, make sure that the system
is full of water checking that the pressure gauge (7) indicates a pressure of
1 - 1.2 bar.
- Open the gas valve downstream of the boiler.
- Press the button (2) and set the boiler to summer (
If summer mode (
) is selected, the hot water temperature is adjusted
with buttons (3-4).
If winter mode (
) is selected, the system water temperature is adjusted
with buttons (5-6), while buttons (3-4) are used to adjust the hot water
temperature; press (+) to increase the temperature, press (-) to decrease it.
From this point on, boiler operation is automatic. With no demand for heat
(for either heating or hot water production) the boiler goes on "standby"
function, i.e. the boiler is powered but there is no flame at the burner. Each
time the boiler lights up, the flame symbol (15) is displayed.
2.5
Fault and anomaly signalling.
In case of anomaly, the boiler display lighting turns from green to orange
or red, and the relative error codes listed in the table appear.
Anomaly signalled
Ignition failure
Overtemperature safety thermostat block
Fumes thermostat tripped.
Electromechanical contacts
Delivery sensor anomaly
Parasite flame
Insufficient circulation
Loss of communication with CRD
Ignition failure. The boiler ignites automatically with each call for room
heating or hot water production. If this does not occur within 10 seconds,
the boiler generates the "ignition failure" signal (code 01). To eliminate
the "ignition failure" signal, press the Reset button (1). On first ignition or
following a prolonged downtime the ignition failure signal may have to be
inhibited. If this phenomenon occurs frequently, contact a qualified techni-
cian for assistance (e.g. Immergas Technical Services Centre).
Overtemperature thermostat. During normal operation, if an anomaly
causes excessive internal overheating, the boiler assumes overtemperature
block status (code 02). After allowing the boiler to cool down, eliminate
the "overtemperature block" by pressing the Reset button (1). If this phe-
nomenon occurs frequently, contact a qualified technician for assistance
(e.g. Immergas Technical Services Centre).
Tripping of fumes thermostat. During operation, if the fumes exhaust
duct does not work properly the fumes thermostat trips and shuts down the
boiler (code 03 - Orange). The boiler restarts automatically after 30 minutes
if normal conditions return, without having to be reset. If the fumes ther-
mostat trips three times in less than 2 hours (code 03 - Red), then boiler will
have to be reset manually by pressing the Reset button (1). If the problem
persists, contact a qualified technician for assistance (e.g. Immergas Technical
Assistance Service).
Electromechanical contacts. This occurs in case of a resistive contact of
the safety thermostat or fume pressure switch (code 04).
Delivery sensor anomaly. If the control board detects an anomaly in the
system delivery NTC sensor (code 05) the boiler will not start; call a quali-
fied technician (e.g. Immergas Technical Assistance Service).
Parasite flame. This occurs in case of a leak on the detection circuit or
anomaly in the flame control unit (code 20).
Insufficient water circulating. This occurs if there is overheating in the
boiler due to insufficient water circulating in the primary circuit (code 27);
the cause can be:
- low circulation; check that no shutoff devices are closed on the heating
circuit and that the system is free of air (deaerated);
- circulation pump blocked; free the circulation pump.
If this phenomenon occurs frequently, contact a qualified technician for
assistance (e.g. Immergas Technical Services Centre).
Loss of communication with the Digital Remote Control. Occurs when
) or winter (
).
communication between the boiler and DRC is lost for more than 1 minute
(code 31). To reset the error code, switch the electrical power to the boiler off
and then back on again. If this problem occurs frequently, contact a qualified
technician for assistance (e.g. Immergas Technical Services Centre).
Boiler shutdown. Press the button (2 page 90) ( ) until the symbol (
appears on the display.
N.B.: In these conditions the boiler is to be considered as still electrically
powered on.
Close the gas cock upstream of the appliance. Never leave the boiler switched
on if left unused for prolonged periods.
2.6
Periodically check the system water pressure. The boiler pressure gauge
should read between 1 and 1.2 bar.
If the pressure falls below 1 bar (with the circuit cool) restore normal pressure
via the valve located at the bottom of the boiler (see figure).

To drain the boiler, use the special drain cock (see figure above and on
page 89).
Before draining, ensure that the filling valve is closed.
2.8
The boiler is supplied as standard with an anti-freeze function that turns
on the pump and burner when system water temperature in the boiler falls
below 4°C and shuts down once the temperature exceeds 42°C. The anti-
freeze function is guaranteed if the boiler is fully operative and not in "block"
status, and is receiving electrical power. To avoid continued operation in
the event of prolonged absence, the system must be drained completely or
anti-freeze substances should be added to the heating system water. In both
cases the boiler hot water water circuit must be drained. In appliances subject
to frequent draining, the system must be refilled with suitably treated water
to eliminate hardness that may cause limescale formation.
2.9
Use damp cloths and neutral detergent to clean the boiler casing. Never use
abrasive or powder detergents.
2.10 Decommissioning.
In case of permanent boiler shutdown, contact professional personnel for
the relative procedures and make sure the electrical, water and gas supply
lines are disconnected.
Restoring heating system pressure.
Draining the system.
Antifreeze protection.
