NOTE!
The protective grill, see Figure 3, item 1 (NOM 18) or Figure 4, item 1 (NOM 28), on
the outlet is not to be removed if the unit is used free-blowing and without a silencer. The duct is
to be at least 1 m if the unit is used free-blowing.
We recommended that a 90° bend and/or a silencer is fitted on the outlet of the unit.
To install the unit:
1. Connect the drain pipe onto the drain spigot. Ensure that air cannot be drawn back along
the drain pipe. If this occurs, the oil will not drain properly. This problem can be solved
either by making an oil lock with a bend in the ducting, see Figure 3, item 5 (NOM 18) or
Figure 4, item 5 (NOM 28), or by ensuring that the drain hose drains below the surface, see
Figure 3, item 6 (NOM 18) or Figure 4, item 6 (NOM 28).
2. We recommend that a damper, see Figure 3, item 3 (NOM 18) or Figure 4, item 3
(NOM 28), is fitted on the inlet of the unit, to adjust the air flow.
3. Connect the inlet duct to the filter inlet, see Figure 3, item 2 (NOM 18) or Figure 4, item 2
(NOM 28).
NOTE!
Y ducting is to be used wherever possible.
5.3
Electrical installation
WarNiNg! Risk of electric shock.
Work with electric equipment is to be carried out by a qualified electrician.
Connect the fan to the electric mains supply with either a 1-phase or 3-phase connection, see the
type label on the motor, according to local regulations.
Install a Nederman fan starter unit on the mains connection cable. A lockable safety switch is to
be installed between the fan and fan starter unit, on or in close proximity to the filter.

6.1
Initial start-up
WarNiNg! Risk of electric shock.
Work with electric equipment is to be carried out by a qualified electrician.
To start the unit:
1. Start the fan unit and ensure that the impeller direction of rotation is correct. Refer to the
rotation sticker on the fan motor. If the impeller rotation is incorrect, switch any two phases
with each other.
2. Ensure that the filter cartridges are not damaged.
3. Loosen the lower hose to the pressure gauge on the unit (the pressure gauge for the HEPA
filter, if such a filter is used), see Figure 5, items 1 and 2 (NOM 18) and Figure 6, items 1
and 2 (NOM 28).
4. Turn the damper handle until the pressure gauge shows 800 Pa.
5. Refit the hose.
6.2
Operation
When the unit has been in operation for some time, open the damper, if required.
